Properties

Violent reaction with water: Extremely sensitive to air and moisture, will undergo violent reaction upon contact with water, releasing highly flammable methane gas.

Flammability: Its solutions are flammable liquids. In humid air, violent exothermic reaction will occur, releasing highly flammable methane gas.

Stability: Operations and storage should be carried out under the protection of anhydrous and oxygen-free inert gases such as nitrogen or argon. Avoid contact with oxidants, acids, alcohols, etc. at room temperature.

Applications

1. Pharmaceutical industry: Widely used in drug synthesis.

2. Pesticide industry: Used for synthesizing various high-efficiency agricultural chemicals.

3. General methylating reagent: As a synthetic agent that can provide methyl anions (CH₃⁻), it is used to introduce methyl groups into target molecules and synthesize various fine chemicals such as alcohols and ketones.

4. Catalytic materials: Can be used to prepare olefin polymerization catalysts.

Packaging/Storage

1. Packaged in 500ml bottles; also available in 200L iron drums and steel cylinders.

2. During use, this product should be isolated from air and moisture to the greatest extent possible. It is best to use it up once opened. Slight color difference or micro-precipitation will not affect the product performance if found.

3. Store at room temperature.
